This role is critical to maintaining efficient workflow within the Fabrication Department and directly impacts weld quality, throughput, and overall production performance.This individual will work closely with welders and fabrication teams to prepare parts, maintain material flow, and uphold housekeeping standards in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment.LocationOnsite in Pooler, Georgia: 2000 Bamford Blvd. Pooler, Georgia 31322.Benefits and Other CompensationJCB offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401 (k) retirement plan; paid time off and paid holidays.Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key AccountabilitiesWeld Preparation & Material HandlingPrepare materials and components for welding by performing tasks such as cleaning, grinding, deburring, and staging partsEnsure all weld surfaces are properly prepped to meet quality and welding specificationsTransport and position materials to support continuous workflow within the welding areaAssist with the replenishment of parts, consumables, and materials to minimize production downtimeFabrication & Tool OperationOperate and maintain hand tools (grinders, wire brushes, cutting tools, etc.) and other preparation equipmentSupport fabrication processes by assisting with fit-up preparation and alignment of componentsSafely operate material handling equipment as required (forklifts, cranes, etc.)Quality & Continuous ImprovementSupport weld quality by ensuring parts meet pre-weld preparation standardsIdentify and communicate issues that may result in defects or inefficienciesApply continuous improvement (CI) tools and lean principles to improve prep processes and reduce wasteAssist in problem-solving efforts to eliminate recurring fabrication or weld defectsHousekeeping & SafetyMaintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S and safety standardsPerform routine housekeeping and debris removal within the fabrication and welding areasEnsure compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirementsSupport a culture of safety-first operations within the departmentGeneral SupportAssist welding and fabrication teams as needed to support production goals and deadlinesPerform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operationsPerform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or welding supportExperience using hand tools and basic fabrication equipmentMust pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing environmentPrior exposure to welding operations or fabrication processesExperience using grinding, cutting, or surface preparation toolsForklift certification (or ability to obtain)Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & CompetenciesStrong understanding of basic fabrication and weld preparation techniquesAbility to operate hand tools, grinders, and preparation equipment safely and effectivelyHigh attention to detail with a focus on quality and precisionAbility to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environmentStrong work ethic and reliabilityEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standardsFlexibility to work overtime or varying shifts as neededMust wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all timesJob ConditionsManufacturing/factory environment.Subject to noise and temperature changes.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
