Weld Engineer IIA reputable manufacturing company located in central Kentucky is in search of a Weld Engineer II to join their engineering team. This role provides a chance to work in a highly advanced manufacturing setting with competitive pay, benefits, room for professional development, and dedicated employee support.Job DutiesAssist engineering and production teams with new product launches.Engage in projects focused on new manufacturing processes and continuous improvement efforts.Evaluate new product designs for manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.Analyze current manufacturing processes and suggest enhancements to boost efficiency and cut costs.Create manufacturing concepts and process plans for new products.Identify, procure, and integrate welding, fabrication, and assembly equipment along with related paperwork.Conduct cost analyses for manufacturing and evaluate production capacity.Support robotic welding operations by aiding in process control and optimization.Enhance fabrication and welding processes to meet production needs.Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product releases.Help with the installation, validation, and launch of new manufacturing processes.Ensure adherence to relevant quality and safety standards.Conduct failure analysis and assist with corrective actions on prototype and production components.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.Previous experience in manufacturing engineering is necessary.Familiarity with welding processes and development of welding procedures is advantageous.Experience with process development, APQP, or similar quality planning methodologies is desirable.Experience with evaluating or integrating manufacturing equipment is beneficial.Knowledge of CAD software like AutoCAD or similar design platforms is preferred.Experience with tooling and fixture design is helpful.Understanding of GD&T, quality management systems, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles is preferred.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Self-driven with a strong sense of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.This role presents the chance to contribute to cutting-edge manufacturing projects while collaborating with a supportive engineering team within a stable and expanding organization.
