About the Role
As a Weekend Wound Care Nurse, you will:
- Provide high-quality wound care services to patients with chronic and acute wounds, including debridement, dressing changes, and educational services
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that promote wound healing and improve patient outcomes
- Conduct wound assessments and document patient progress in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Educate patients and their caregivers on wound care techniques and promote self-care management
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions
Responsibilities
- Provide weekend coverage for wound care services, including Saturdays and Sundays
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including wound assessments, treatments, and progress notes
- Participate in staff meetings and in-services to stay current with best practices in wound care and to promote team collaboration
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to established infection control protocols and policies
