Weekend Shift Assembly TechnicianLocation: Boulder, CO Pay: $22–$26/hour (DOE) Shift: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Type: Temp-to-HireAbout the RoleAs an Assembly Technician, you'll assemble precision optical, electronic, and mechanical components used in advanced laser systems. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that spans both component and sub-system level builds. You'll perform optical alignment, bonding, metrology, and cleanroom-based assembly tasks while following exacting specifications.

The work is well suited for someone with strong fine motor control, a quality mindset, and a commitment to clean, process-focused manufacturing.What You'll DoAssemble optical components, electronics, and mechanical parts into complex laser system assembliesPerform optical assembly and alignment techniques, including adhesive dispensing, curing, and shimmingUse robotic dispensing equipment and adjust speed, timing, or output to meet clearance and quality requirementsAssemble optomechanical subassemblies following written procedures and required documentationConduct optical metrology measurements, including surface figure, transmitted wavefront error, and dimensional and angular checksFollow cleanroom practices, maintain contamination-free work areas, and use ultrasonic and cleanline cleaning equipmentCheck all work thoroughly prior to sign-offPower down equipment and return tools, components, and paperwork to designated storage locationsRecord process data accurately on process sheets and in computer systemsFollow torque limiting tool procedures and ESD handling practicesSupport department cleanliness and organizationOccasionally work overtime or alternate shifts to support shipping schedulesPerform additional duties as assignedWhat You Bring• 3+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience; optics or laser systems exposure preferred • High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical degree or certificate highly preferred • Strong manual dexterity and fine motor control when handling sensitive optics • Excellent hand-eye coordination and comfort working with finished surfaces • Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely and consistently • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic computer usage • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and process disciplineWhy This Role Stands OutYou'll work hands-on with cutting-edge laser and optical technologies in a precision-focused manufacturing environment.
