Weekend Registration Specialist

River's Edge Hospital & Clinic seeks a Weekend Registration Specialist to welcome and register patients, verify insurance, and ensure accurate, timely entry of demographic and billing information. Working primarily at the front desk, you will greet patients and visitors, obtain consents, collect co-pays, and coordinate with clinical and billing teams to support smooth patient flow and excellent service. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, comfortable with electronic health records, and committed to patient-centered care, confidentiality, professionalism, and teamwork in a fast-paced weekend hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information for accuracy
• Obtain required signatures and consents in compliance with hospital policies
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and communicate coverage details as needed
• Collect co-pays and other payments, balance cash drawer, and follow cash-handling procedures
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments as neededCoordinate with clinical, nursing, and billing teams to support efficient patient flow
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and hospital privacy standards
• Operate multi-line phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls or visitors appropriately
• Assist with other weekend clerical and registration duties as assigned
