In addition to producing fence boards and pallet stock lumber, Alta's zero-wood-waste sawmills produce by-products such as wood chips, sawdust, mulch, and biofuel.Headquartered in centrally located Chehalis, Washington, Alta operates in multiple Northwest rural communities including Morton, WA; Winlock, WA; Shelton, WA; Amanda Park, WA; Lewiston ID; Bonners Ferry, ID; and Naples, ID.Job located in Naples, IdahoPay: Starting at $32.02 - $39.25 per hour DOE$1.50 per hour shift differential for Swing, Graveyard & Weekend shiftsPosition Type: Weekend Shift: Friday - MondayThis is a full-time position, and overtime work may be required as projects or job duties demand.The RoleThe main responsibilities of a millwright are to keep the mill running, fix any breakdown, and maintain machinery to prevent breakdowns. In addition, millwrights may work on larger projects such as repairing and maintaining cylinders, belts, conveyors, chains, motors, and valves and fabricating new equipment.ResponsibilitiesPractices safe behavior at all timesFixes and maintains machineryCompletes welding where necessaryProvides carpentry work where neededPerforms preventative maintenance on machinesMaintains good housekeepingReads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work proceduresDismantles machinesMoves machinery and equipmentAssembles and installs equipment such as shafting, and conveyorsConstructs foundation for machinesAligns machines and equipmentAssembles machines, bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to the foundation or other structures.Repairs and lubricates machines and equipmentOther duties as assignedRequirementsQualificationsMinimum age of 18High School Diploma or GEDPrevious experience in related positions through a combination of education and related workStrong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and work order systemsAble to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues through data analytics, intuition, and experience.Effectively able to communicate through written and verbal forms of communicationAbility to read and interpret documents like safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals, and blueprintsAbility to perform basic mathematical equationsThis position is classified as "safety-sensitive," meaning that an accident in this role could result in loss of life, serious bodily injury, or significant damage to property or the environment, as such candidates will be subject to comprehensive pre-employment drug screening.Work EnvironmentThis role may operate in a professional office, log yards, sawmill, warehouse or shipping and railyard.

While performing the duties of this job, employees will be exposed to machinery and moving mechanical parts.
