Weekend MachinistHitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Weekend Machinist to join its team. This role is responsible for taking the raw stock and machine it to the desired dimensions for assembly into the various products made at Hitachi Energy Alamo Facility.4 days off a week!Work 36 hours and get paid for 40!How you'll make an impact:Proficient in CNC, lathes, machine centers, quality, safety, blueprint interpretation from engineering as requiredSuccessfully complete in-house machinist exercise on all machining equipment in the section.Work from Work Center Dispatch and print feeders for work orders.Purchase aluminum stock, brass, bronze and cast-iron materials, raw steel, copper stock, and cleaning agentsSet up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operationsMay provide information to drafting, engineering, and the supervisorNormal supervision on routine assignments. Receives technical information form engineering as requiredCalculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments, such as micrometers or vernier caliperMaintain machine tools in proper operational conditionAlign and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machinesMust meet the requirements of a Code 9 machinist and acceptably meet the requirements of the proficiency machinist standards in productivityDispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulationsStudy sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate productsYour background:Associate's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or relevant industry or graduate from a trade school covering standard and computer-controlled metal working equipment or demonstrated knowledgeOr 5 years of machining experienceEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesProtected veterans and qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
