For all stages of the intranet’s development, this person will work closely with the different stakeholders in External Affairs, Departments & Information Technology with responsibility for recommending the overall visual design, site navigation, site content, engagement and training of users, coordination with key stakeholders and oversight of the technology.Primary responsibilities:Responsible to lead the effort to develop functional & technical specification for the Intranet Project.Conduct research to understand intranet user needsLead efforts to create and maintain a sound site navigation (information architecture)Coordinate with External Affairs to manage the homepage to maintain a proper balance of content and toolsCoordinate with External Affairs to oversee authoring and proper use of online channels for official company newsLead projects to improve sections of the intranet or deliver new tools through the intranetMonitor user-generated content for appropriatenessMonitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)Technology: The underlying hardware and softwareCreation of requirements/specifications to deploy on Sitecore & SharePoint platforms.Ensure proper coordination between the IT Department and intranet software vendorsUnderstand the basic technology platforms at playLiaise with the IT Department and software vendors on technical questions of implementation and upgradesManage common administrative tasks in the intranet software, or liaise with IT staff around those tasks including but not limited to Security.Engagement: Interaction with users and stakeholdersCoordinate oversight and planning bodiesManage the core implementation teamWork closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and involve them in planning and problem solving (including Communications, IT, HR, Risk and Legal, as well as executives and administrative staff)Coordinate the efforts of central content ownersInvolve users in structured design and planning activitiesCommunicate actively with all main stakeholder and user groupsSupport intranet group owners in maintaining active communitiesProvide introductions and training to users of all different levels (including average users, content owners, news authors, group owners)Administrative responsibilitiesEngage stakeholders as necessary for implementing certain development, planning and design activitiesMaintain the intranet project budgetQualifications & skills:5 years of experience managing and implementing intranets or collaboration software such as Sitecore and MS SharePoint.Sitecore Certified and/or MS SharePoint CertifiedUnderstanding of top-level business strategies and organizational structuresProject management experienceExcellent verbal & written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong leadership skills to coordinate and facilitate activities with colleaguesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacyHighly experienced with Office applications, including word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation softwareHigh level of comfort with social software and other web-based technologies
