About the Role
We're hiring a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant, including equipment maintenance, quality control/testing, and day-to-day activities on an assigned shift. This role typically holds - or is working toward - an intermediate-level water/wastewater treatment certification.
Pay: $20.00- $24.00 per hourWhat You'll Do
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with possible exposure to loud noise, active machinery, high-pressure fluid systems, confined spaces, heights/depths, fumes, and chemicals. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and use standard PPE.

This role typically holds - or is working toward - an intermediate-level water/wastewater treatment certification.
Pay: $20.00- $24.00 per hourWhat You'll Do
- Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels
- Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings
- Operate valves and gates either manually or by remote control
- Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
- Maintain shift logs and record meter and gauge readings
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses
- Perform routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
- Make operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification at the level required by the state in which the project is located
- One year of experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants
- Valid driver's license
- Basic familiarity with the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations; operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical sewage analyses; effects of industrial waste on treatment processes; and safe work practices
