Water Resource EngineerAs a Water Resource Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Tucson, AZ office you'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively in an employee-owned company while interacting with clients, contractors, regulators, and government officials. At CEC, you will provide services for projects of various complexities with opportunities in stormwater management & compliance, watershed management, floodplain management, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) permitting & map revisions, flood mitigation analyses, permitting & design, drainage master planning, waterways development, bridge & culvert designs, water resources & construction permitting, and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) services. Your involvement throughout the lifespan of projects will be from conception through construction as you contribute to the analysis, design, development of plans & specifications, permitting applications, bidding, and construction engineering.

As your career at CEC progresses, your team will look to you as a technical expert as you share your knowledge through meetings, conferences, articles, and mentoring.Key Responsibilities:Perform advanced engineering design tasks on complex water resource projectsPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructureDevelop and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and perform simulationsDevelop detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and reports, along with permit application supportConduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on projectsProvide mentoring, training, and oversight for staffManage water resource related projects and tasksPursue client management and business development opportunities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering (or related field)Professional Engineer licensed in Arizona or able to obtain an AZ license6+ years of water resources engineering experienceExperience mentoring and managing staff.Preferred Capabilities:Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills with a thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resourcesExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate via phone, email, technical writing, and in-personAbility to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovationAbility to work effectively in a team environment and to engage in creative and critical thoughtStrong experience with hydrologic and hydraulic processes and expertise in modeling these processesFamiliarity with applications of Low Impact Development, Green Infrastructure, and/or Nature-Based SolutionsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, or other standard water resources softwareProficiency in 2D Hydraulic Modeling (e.g., FLO-2D) preferred, but not required.About Us:We have experts!
