Gallant is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing Preconstruction Services team in Crystal Lake, IL. This role is critical to project success and client trust, working closely with Business Development, Operations, subcontractors, and clients.
At Gallant, estimating is more than pricing — it's about strategy, clarity, and helping clients make informed decisions. Lead estimating efforts for projects ranging from $1M–$10M+, including ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and site work Develop a clear estimating strategy for each project, identifying scope, risks, assumptions, and opportunities Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor pricing and support buyout Provide thorough documentation and support a strong handoff to Operations Proactively identify challenges and help the team find a way forward 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
Prior field experience is strongly preferred
Experience across multiple sectors, including retail, restaurant, financial, grocery, entertainment, and industrial
Proven subcontractor relationships and market knowledge
Proficiency with estimating software and technology tools
Strong communication skills, high personal standards, and a collaborative mindset
