Wastewater Treatment Supervisor (Starlink)Bastrop, TXSpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable. We are looking for talented, creative, and driven supervisors to drive manufacturing tools and processes, from initial concept development to full scale production. You will drive the relationship between engineering, development, and production teams and will interact regularly with department leadership.
The success of Starlink depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, security, and user experience of the products that you deliver.As a Starlink Wastewater Treatment Supervisor, you will manage a team of technicians while working closely with specialists and engineers, driving the operationalization and ramp of a 24/7 state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant with the mission of recycling process water from various Starlink production lines. The supervisor will also drive progress on an hour-by-hour and day-by-day basis by effectively using labor resources, prioritizing work, and setting goals. For this role specifically, it is highly important that the supervisor is an inspiring leader, frequently working side-by-side with their team.Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of technicians, including performance management related tasksSupervise shop floor activity, including daily schedules and workflowEffectively organize, assign, and track work/deliverables for the team, ensuring seamless progression through multi-shift work schedulesPrioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goalsSupport transitioning equipment from engineering development to full rate productionDevelop standard work instructions and PM schedulesIdentify training needs and develop a training programProvide required data and reporting to support department metrics and improvementsMaximize productivity, efficiency, and qualityMaintain tooling and consumable supply inventoryContinuously improve people, process, and equipmentIdentify and mitigate risks to production schedules and targetsCoordinate efforts to minimize production interruptionsEnsure process quality and conformance to specificationsImprove area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvementUse root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actionsInitiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departmentsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of professional experience in a water treatment or wastewater treatment plant in lieu of degree1+ years of experience leading a team or projectPreferred Skills and Experience:2+ years of experience leading a team or projectLean manufacturing training and experienceDemonstrated ability to read and interpret controlled documentation such as wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts listsFamiliarity with Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Failure Mode Effects AnalysisAble to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast-paced work environmentProficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related softwareAdditional Requirements:Must be available for one of the following shifts (start and end times are approximate):A Shift – 5:00am-5:00pm, Sunday-WednesdayB Shift – 5:00am-5:00pm, Wednesday-SaturdayC Shift – 5:00pm-5:00am, Sunday-WednesdayD Shift – 5:00pm-5:00am, Wednesday-SaturdayAbility to travel on an ongoing basis (up to 10%)Ability to stand up to 6 hours, lift 25 pounds unassisted, and maneuver around equipment in a factory settingLifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are required to perform the functions of this positionAbility to work in cleanroom and industrial environments with fumes/odors, noise, hazardous chemicals, and confined spacesITAR Requirements:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S.
