This position is with the City of Sanger in the Public Works department. The salary range is $51,576.00 - $62,676.00 annually. The job is full-time and is located in Sanger, CA. The role involves inspecting and monitoring discharges into wastewater systems to enforce regulations, operating the wastewater treatment plant, and performing related work. The Environmental Compliance Inspector role requires interpreting regulations and initiating enforcement actions for noncompliance. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I focuses on routine plant operations.

Minimum qualifications include completion of the twelfth grade, one year of experience in industrial waste inspection and wastewater treatment plant operation, and basic computer skills. Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I and the ability to obtain a Grade I Environmental Compliance Inspector certification within 18 months are required. A valid Class C California Driver's License is also required.

Physical demands include heavy lifting, wearing respiratory protection, and working in various weather conditions and confined spaces. The role requires working weekends, holidays, and being on a 24-hour emergency call-out list.
