This is a temp-to-hire position starting at $20.00/hour and up to $26.00 per hour DOE , with higher pay available for candidates who already hold a CDL or state wastewater treatment certification.

About the Role
We're hiring an entry-level Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to learn and grow skills in plant maintenance and treatment operations. This is a temp-to-hire position starting at $20.00/hour and up to $26.00 per hour DOE , with higher pay available for candidates who already hold a CDL or state wastewater treatment certification.
What You'll Do
- Learn and gain skills involving the maintenance of equipment and servicing work in the plant
- Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent
- Operate valves and gates manually or by remote control; start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow and treatment processes
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels
- Observe and report abnormalities to supervisor
- Maintain shift logs and record meter and gauge readings
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses
- Perform routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in general operation of engines, pumps, and related equipment
- General maintenance experience and safe work practices
- Basic biological and chemical principles knowledge
- CDL or State Wastewater Treatment Certification (results in higher starting pay)
