Wastewater Treatment Operator – 1st Shift
Our customer in Lena, Illinois is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Wastewater Treatment Operator. We’re recruiting for a full-time 1st Shift position. As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for operating the wastewater treatment plant and supporting all related functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities of the Wastewater Treatment Operator:
- Operate and monitor the wastewater treatment plant and associated systems.
- Maintain all wastewater treatment and irrigation equipment.
- Maintain the grounds surrounding the wastewater treatment facility.
- Assist with snow removal from plant grounds and walkways as needed.
- Perform precision laboratory testing and record results accurately.
- Follow regulatory permit requirements and report test results in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and operating permits.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safe work practices.
- Support overall plant efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.
Wastewater Treatment Operator Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Illinois State Class K Wastewater Certification.
- Wastewater operations experience in a good manufacturing environment preferred.
- Mechanical experience, including electrical and plumbing knowledge preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, climb stairs or ladders, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
Pay for Wastewater Treatment Operator: Starting at $31/hour.

Schedule: Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm, with some weekends as needed.
