Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an experienced Wastewater Project Engineer for our Manchester, NH office. As part of our wastewater team, this position will be involved with a wide variety of wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on treatment process design and construction.

Work Setting

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of technical treatment strategies, selection of treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects
- Assist with client coordination and collaboration
- Work on interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs
- Coordinate with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery
- Support preparation of proposals and presentations
- Participate in fieldwork and perform site visits from planning through construction that may be required, with occasional travel if needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering
- PE license
- 5-10 years of experience in the field of wastewater‑related infrastructure, including project engineering/management (planning, design, and construction)
- Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
- Experience in successfully delivering support to projects spanning multiple years, on collaborative, multi‑disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Self‑starter with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
