Job TitleQualifications:Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDPossess a valid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operations of engines, pumps, and related equipment.General maintenance work.Safe work practices.Basic biological and chemical principles.Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Learns and gains skills involving the maintenance of equipment and servicing work in the plantOperates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluentOperates valves and gates either manually or by remote control, and starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.Monitors gauges, meters, and control panelsObserves and reports abnormalities to supervisorMaintains shift log and records meter and gauge readingsCollects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analysesPerforms routine maintenance functions and custodial dutiesUnderstands and carries out oral and written directionsEstablishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of workPerforms other duties as requiredComments/Special Instructions: HOURLY PAY IS HIGHER IF THE APPLICANT HAS ALREADY OBTAINED A CDL OR HAS OBTAINED STATE WASTEWATER TREATMENT CERTIFICATION.
