Wastewater Operator-In-Training
We're hiring a Wastewater Operator-in-Training to support daily operations at a wastewater treatment facility under the direction of a certified operator. This entry-level role is a great opportunity to learn treatment plant operations, equipment maintenance, and process monitoring while working toward state certification.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels
- Observe and report abnormalities to the Certified Operator
- Operate valves and gates manually or by remote control; start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control treatment processes
- Maintain shift logs and record meter and gauge readings
- Learn and gain skill in equipment maintenance, servicing, and operating tasks
- Take and record equipment readings
- Take process samples and perform routine laboratory tests under supervision
- Maintain daily and punctual attendance at assigned job sites
- Be available for on-call emergency response as needed
- Travel between work locations as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain Oklahoma D-Level Wastewater Certification within 12 months of assignment
- Must live within 30 minutes of the facility
- Must be available for on-call rotation
