This position is responsible for ensuring treatment processes comply with California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) regulations, NPDES permit requirements, and facility policies.

The Operator II performs advanced operational duties and may act as lead operator during assigned shifts.Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we'll help you grow what drives you – and deliver the world's most challenging Operations Management projects, together.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate, monitor, and control wastewater treatment processes including liquid treatment and biosolids systemsInterpret SCADA data, laboratory results, and process indicators to make process control adjustmentsStart, stop, and adjust pumps, blowers, valves, and chemical feed systemsPerform process control calculations and determine chemical dosages and flow ratesOperate and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA systemsCollect samples and perform routine laboratory testingIdentify process upsets, diagnose operational issues, and implement corrective actionsEnsure compliance with NPDES permits, SWRCB regulations, and safety requirementsAccurately complete logs, reports, and regulatory documentationProvide technical guidance to lower-level operators when assignedAct as shift lead in the absence of supervisory staff when assignedPerform other related duties as assignedHere's what you'll needHigh school diploma or GEDPossession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade III certificateMinimum of three (3) years of wastewater treatment plant operations experienceValid California driver's licenseIdeally, You'll Also Have:Experience with activated sludge, nutrient removal, and biosolids processesStrong knowledge of California wastewater regulations and permit complianceExperience using SCADA, CMMS, and Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrate ability to work independently and make sound operational decisionsWorking Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
