Wastewater OperatorWe are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in The Villages, Florida. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations, maintenance and repair of a wastewater treatment facility.Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pmThis position requires a valid Florida Class C Wastewater LicenseResponsibilitiesMonitors and adjusts the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the wastewater treatment plantRecords statistical data concerning plant operationsMaintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessaryCharts lab test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analysis and test resultsEvaluates data and writes reports as requiredRepairs gages, pumps, filters and other controls and equipmentCollects all samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of water required in accordance with local, state and federal requirementsGathers and tests water samples for plant efficiency as requiredMonitors water quality and checks turbidity, chlorine and fluoride levelsPerforms quality control tests on lab equipment and lab analyses; evaluates procedures and results for accuracy and determines appropriate methodsAssures that plant operates within required standards and all routine equipment adjustments as necessaryTrains (as needed) lesser skilled wastewater treatment plant operators for plant operational procedures, sampling and maintenance operationsCalibrates, modifies or repairs all instrumentation and control equipment including but not limited to chart recorders, chlorination equipment, high service pumps, well pumps, SCADA controls, ground storage tanks, elevated storage tanks, buildings and structuresQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDA valid Drivers LicenseA valid Class C Wastewater License1+ year of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants
