General Purpose - Perform a variety of skilled maintenance, operational, and laboratory duties associated with the operation and maintenance of the Cedarburg Water Recycling Center and collection system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Operate valves, pumps, chemical feed, screens and grit removal equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, and process equipment including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, lift stations, the collection system, and buildings and grounds.
Clean wet wells and operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process of wastewater; monitor and operate gauges, meters and control panels; observe and interpret variations in operating conditions.
Collect samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of wastewater required in accordance with local, state and Federal requirements; gather and test wastewater samples for plant efficiency reports and for use in determining processing requirements; maintain records; perform other routine tests.
Ability to participate in weekend and after hour rotations.
Tools & equipment used: motor vehicle, generators, pumps, gauges, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radio, phone, computer
Typical Qualifications:

Typical Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- 2-year or 4-year degree in water science related field or any combination of training and experience is desirable
- Must have or be able to obtain a Wisconsin Wastewater Operator's License with all necessary subclasses
- Must have a valid State of Wisconsin Driver's License
- Must have or be able to obtain within one year a CDL with tanker (N) endorsement
- Must have the ability to respond within 30 minutes to plant emergencies or lift station alarms
- Pre-employment background check and drug test are required prior to hiring
- Working knowledge of equipment facilities, material, methods and procedures used in wastewater treatment plant maintenance is preferred.
- A working knowledge of computers is preferred.
- Salary range is $54,500 - $76,500 depending on experience and education
