To support the Mann-Grandstaff Memorial VA Medical Center, the full-time salaried Washington State Licensed Medical Coder will provide accurate medical coding for inpatient, outpatient, and observation encounters while adhering to VA guidelines and maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or above in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Maintain an overall coding accuracy of 95% or above across all record types Perform coding in accordance with current Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting Complete provider queries and ensure timely compliance with coding productivity standards Required qualifications Active coding credential required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) Prior experience with VA or federal healthcare coding strongly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of VA-specific coding requirements Ability to locate Financial Identification Numbers (FINs) and link documents accurately in Cerner/Oracle Must complete required VA Cybersecurity/Privacy Training and Cerner/Oracle system training prior to starting work
