To support healthcare operations, the full-time salaried Washington Licensed Medical Coder will assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, review patient documentation for accuracy, and collaborate with healthcare staff while working remotely on a temporary contract basis. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using various classification systems Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with regulations Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement and analyze medical records for documentation deficiencies Required qualifications Proven work experience as a Medical Coder or in a similar role Three years of experience working directly for a Critical Access Facility or Rural Health Clinic Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records Experience troubleshooting Meditech and other billing software Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
