Providing expert coding support, the full-time Washington Licensed Hospital Coder will review medical records, ensure accurate coding for reimbursement and compliance, and mentor coding staff while working onsite. Key responsibilities Review medical record documentation and code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions Identify and resolve complex coding issues and collaborate with departments to correct errors Assist in the testing and implementation of coding software and electronic medical records (EMR) Required qualifications Completion of a college-based or AAPC/AHIMA approved coding education program Minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient acute care or hospital-based coding Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems Credentials such as Registered Health Information Administrator, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Professional Coder Knowledge of acute care and critical access reimbursement requirements
