Working remotely in a full-time capacity, a Washington Licensed HIM Coder will be responsible for coding various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines. Key responsibilities: Code hospital and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring accurate assignment based on medical documentation Maintain coding quality and productivity standards, tracking and reporting productivity metrics as required Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and workflow efficiencies Required qualifications: Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance requirements Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry Understanding of electronic medical record systems and encoder applications is preferred
