Warehouse Supervisor

I have a direct hire opening for a Warehouse Supervisor in Phoenix with a manufacturing company that remanufactures automotive transmissions. This is a 1st shift opening!

• In this role, you will supervise a team of 4 warehouse associates responsible for receiving used transmission units, verifying incoming shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and storing transmissions in the warehouse.

• You will oversee receiving operations, including unloading trucks, verifying shipments, entering inventory into the Warehouse Management System, and placing transmissions into designated storage locations.

• You will also be responsible for inventory accuracy, investigating discrepancies, completing month-end inventory reconciliation, and working with the Logistics Manager to ensure transmission units are properly received and accounted for before entering the remanufacturing process.

Salary and Shift Information:

• Salary: $75K/annually
• 1st shift: 6 AM–3:30 PM; Monday–Friday with overtime when requested

Job Duties of the Warehouse Supervisor:

• Supervise a team of 4 warehouse associates responsible for receiving, storing, and maintaining inventory of used transmission units.
• Assign daily receiving and warehouse tasks, monitor employee performance, and ensure shipments are processed accurately and on time.
• Oversee the unloading of incoming transmission shipments using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Verify incoming shipments by identifying the supplier, checking transmission units and quantities, and confirming information matches the receiving documentation.
• Ensure all incoming transmission units are properly documented and entered into the company’s Warehouse Management System.
• Oversee the storage and organization of transmission units on pallet racks and maintain accurate inventory locations.
• Investigate receiving errors, missing transmission units, incorrect shipment information, and inventory discrepancies.
• Complete inventory counts, review warehouse records, and investigate differences between physical inventory and WMS records.
• Manage month-end inventory reconciliation to ensure inventory counts and warehouse records are accurate for Accounting.
• Work with the Logistics Manager and Accounting to research inventory discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues before month-end closing.
• Review existing Excel reports and templates to verify receiving information, inventory counts, and warehouse records.
• Train warehouse associates on receiving procedures, inventory accuracy, WMS transactions, equipment operation, and warehouse safety requirements.
• Conduct employee performance reviews, provide coaching, and address performance issues through corrective action when necessary.
• Assist with unloading, receiving, inventory counts, and other warehouse tasks when staffing is limited or employees are absent.
• Monitor warehouse equipment, including forklifts, and ensure employees follow proper operating and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse with properly stored transmission units and clear access to inventory locations.
• Identify opportunities to improve receiving accuracy, inventory control, warehouse organization, and employee productivity.

Job Requirements of the Warehouse Supervisor:

• Have 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or distribution warehouse
• Supervise warehouse employees, assign work, train employees, conduct performance reviews, and handle corrective actions.
• Have experience with warehouse receiving, and inventory control.
• Use a Warehouse Management System to process receiving transactions, track inventory, and maintain accurate records.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including working with existing reports and templates and verifying data accuracy.
• Investigate receiving errors, inventory discrepancies, and missing or incorrectly documented materials.
