Warehouse OperatorThe Warehouse Operator is a critical role in our plant operations in Sycamore, IL. Incumbents in this role are responsible for all aspects of the warehousing process from receiving and shipping of raw materials and finished goods. Staging raw materials for production.

Pulling orders for shipments. Material segregation for hold items.Main AccountabilitiesCarrying out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption.Compliance with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHS policies and procedures.Unloading and loading trucks; verifying materials at time of receipt, shipping & stagingPrepares orders by processing requests and open ordersPulling materials and verifying accuracy or ordersSort and place materials in rack and bin locations according to organizational standardsMaintain inventory controlsAssist in counting physical inventoryRotating inventory while following FEFOBeing responsible for own actionsCarrying out work in a manner which does not present a risk to themselves, others, and the environment.Comply with all environmental standards, procedures, and work instructions always.Report any environmental violations, near misses or unsafe acts to prevent any impact upon the local environment, its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle.Reporting all incidents, defects, hazards, and inadequacies of procedures so that appropriate review and corrective action can be taken.Suggesting improvements and being active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensure EHSQS Support's activities and services are carried out in a safe, environmentally responsible, reliable and cost-effective manner.Fully participate in the safety program, including reporting any incidents or near misses, training, auditing, etc.Meeting and exceeding clear housekeeping/GMP standards and food safety protocols.Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished product packaging.Other duties as assigned.Competencies, Skills, Knowledge, Experience and QualificationsCompetenciesPossessing a strong, positive safety mindset while performing all functions/activities.Dependable and punctual in meeting expectations for attendance and performance.Basic knowledge in EHSQS & behaviorKnowledge on J2E and its principlesQualificationsHighschool diploma/GED, or equivalent experience required.Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a 10-hour workday.Must be able to climb stairs repeatedly.Must be able to stand for long periods of time.Must be able to bend and squat.Must be able to effectively operate a sit down and reach lift.Must be able to manipulate bags weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.ExperiencePrior experience working in a warehousing environment is preferred but not a requirement for entry role.Skills / KnowledgeThe ability to think critically about processes, flow, and troubleshooting.Eager to advance and learn new roles.Committed to our customers through ensuring compliance with all applicable GMP and food safety policies and procedures.Able to communicate openly, honestly, and directly in a non-aggressive fashion with all members of the plant team.Self-starting and self-managing.Goal-oriented and focused on continuous improvement of themselves as individuals and the operation of the plant.Dependable and punctual in meeting expectations for attendance and performance.Able to work a varying schedule, if needed, as process upsets and area issues ariseThe ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift and carry 55 lbs., and perform other physical dutiesTate & Lyle is an equal opportunity employer, committed to the strength of an inclusive workforce.
