Warehouse Manager

Position

Warehouse Manager (Exempt) / On-site

Range: $65,000 – 80,000 annually

Primary Purpose

Provide direction and perform the day-to-day operations of receiving, warehousing and distribution of materials, safety PPE, tools, tool & equipment repair along with fleet vehicle support services to enhance the efficiency and profitability of the company.

Essential Functions

• Implement department objectives and strategies to maintain an effective warehousing program within the boundaries of the corporate policies.
• Assist management team with procurement of materials, tools and equipment.
• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and replenishing as required.
• Supervise the warehousing staff performance. Ensure that employees under their supervision comply with corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain an accurate tool and equipment computerized inventory and tracking system to ensure maximum utilization rate.
• Manage and direct an effective tool & equipment maintenance and repair program. Program will ensure that equipment is kept in proper working order and that tools are maintained complete with all accessories; verify that tools are retuned in same condition as issued.
• Direct the transportation of procured materials, tools and equipment.
• Monitor warehousing housekeeping to assure a clean, organized and safe environment.
• Coordinate the flow of materials, tools and equipment to and from construction sites to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Provide monitoring, implementation and support services of the fleet vehicle program as directed by the Operations Manager.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Varney considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Requirements

This position is classified Full-Time (exempt). Basic qualifications for this position include:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum ten years industry experience (construction, warehousing, logistics)
• Minimum five years’ experience in warehouse management or supervisory position

Successful candidates will also:

• Have good computer usage skills, including Microsoft office applications.
• Possess a practical knowledge of the application of the construction materials, tools and equipment.
• Understand the function, operation, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Be capable of operating a forklift.
• Have strong communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills.

Preferred Candidates will:

• Be self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision.
• Motor vehicle record must meet the standards of the Varney Fleet policy to be a qualified driver.
• Show up engaged to complete work and tasks as expected with an attitude of excellence

Physical Demands Classification

Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking and hearing.

Medium – Exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
