This person manages approximately 80 employees, salaried and hourly personnel, within a union setting.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment in which achievement in driving change in culture, procedures, and measurable performance was attained.DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESOverall responsibility for product shipping by truckOptimization of facility layout and inventory managementPerformance monitoring and reportingEnsure compliance with safety standards and Good Manufacturing PracticesDepartmental budgetingEnsure Warehousing and Shipping areas are audit ready at all timesManage bulk loading with multiple liquid and dry trucks per dayLiquid Silo tank managementManage railcar loading and associated reliability and capital projectsDownstream Packaging Equipment Reliability and MaintenanceThis position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.WORK EXPERIENCESMinimum 7 years of Distribution and Logistics experience in a high volume operation of which at least 4 years must be in managementFamiliarity with Key Performance Indicators in Logistics / Distribution / Customer ServiceExperience with creating & maintaining various management reports & budgetsExperience in Warehouse/Distribution Center lay-outsAccomplished results in Warehouse/Distribution Center performance improvementSupervision experience in a union environmentConsumer Product Goods/ Retail Distribution industry experience is a plusDemonstrated Experience with SAP preferredEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related area of studySUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYManages staff comprised of 4 supervisors and 70+ hourly employeesEnsures Labor Contract is followed by all employees, and reports any potential violationReview performance for salaried employees and identify training needsReview and issue disciplinary measures according to the Labor Contract and Company PolicyThe pay range for this position is below. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience. Range: $130,000 to $241,000We are an equal opportunity employer.
