Chemical Process Operator, 2nd Shift (Swings)Location: Ogden, UT Pay: $22 - $31.00/hr + 15% Shift Differential (Plus $3k Sign on Bonus) Start Date: ASAP Job Type: Direct, Full-Time Schedule: 2nd Shift/Swings (Monday to Friday, 3:30pm-1:00am - 5-4/9's with every other Friday off)Our client, a leading Aerospace Manufacturer, is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to join their team in Ogden, Utah. The Chemical Process Operator is responsible for performing chemical, metallurgical, and mechanical testing to ensure materials and processes meet aerospace, industry, and customer specifications. This role includes wet chemistry, colorimetric and pH testing, metallurgic examinations, mechanical property testing, and corrosion analysis, using a variety of laboratory equipment such as microscopes, grinders, glassware, and analytical instruments.
The Chemical Process Operator also ensures accurate documentation, adheres to safety and laboratory standards, and participates in continuous process improvement.Core Responsibilities:Operate and monitor equipment such as air scrubbers, wastewater treatment plant, chemical tanks, and monorail overhead cranes.Control process variables (temperature, pressure, flow rates) using computer systems or control panelsFollow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocolsPerform routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment issuesRecord production data and maintain logsTake samples and perform basic quality checksCoordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs or improvementsEnsure compliance with environmental and safety regulationsLoad and unload parts into processing racks.Ensure etching processes meet specifications for precision and uniformityRecord process data and maintain detailed production logsFollow strict chemical room protocols and contamination control proceduresTroubleshoot process equipment alarmsCollaborate with engineers and technicians to improve yield and efficiencyAdhere to safety procedures when handling chemicals and wearing PPE.Performs additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum of one (1) year strong manufacturing background in a laboratory environment.Chemical, mechanical, and metallographic testing skills.Experience in laboratory inventory control.Advanced math skills.Experience in engineering testing failure analysis.Excellent computer knowledge and applications experience.Ability to utilize hand sheers, fume hood extractor, dimensional measuring, analytical lab equipment and scales.Prefer background in Aerospace Industry.Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED requiredCompliance Requirements:Due to the nature of the work performed, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. regulations.
