Machinist PositionLet's start with what this job is not.It is not loading a part, pushing Cycle Start and waiting for the machine to finish.We're looking for a machinist who understands the entire machining process and is comfortable taking ownership at the machine.The work involves:Large parts.Complex components.Tight tolerances.High-value mold and tooling work.You'll set up and operate VTL/vertical turning equipment, select tooling, determine feeds and speeds, prove out and edit programs, make offsets, inspect your work and troubleshoot problems as they happen.You'll also work with large components using overhead cranes and appropriate rigging practices.You probably fit if...You can give you a print and you know where to start.You understand GD&T.You're comfortable selecting tooling and inserts.You make your own offsets and program edits.Micrometers, calipers, indicators and bore gauges are everyday tools.When a dimension starts moving, you figure out why.Experience with mold, die, tooling, aerospace, heavy industrial or other high-precision machining environments is valuable.The company is established and family-owned, with significant large-part machining capabilities and experienced tooling professionals.If you're a setup machinist rather than a machine operator, this one is worth discussing.Please submit a resume for consideration.
