VP of Finance

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, inventory, COGS and tax compliance.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop, manage and maintain a sales reporting system for financial statement and sales commission purposes.
• Work with the CEO and CCO on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Partner with the CEO and department heads to provide actionable financial insights.
• Support board and investor reporting.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial models to guide business decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
• Manage annual financial audits and, as needed, coordinate tax preparations with external tax consultants.
• Develop internal controls and written accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Review and recommend upgraded accounting systems and integrate them into existing ERP and CRM platforms.
• Update accounting processes to support scaling, commercial‑stage medtech company growth.
• Support cross‑functional operations, including supply chain and manufacturing as financial complexity grows.
• Manage onboarding of new employees, working with an external HR firm.
• Help determine and recommend salary changes, annual bonuses, and other incentive compensation plans with the CEO and division leadership.
• Manage the cap table through existing online platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to build budgets, accounting systems, and teams from the ground up.
• Team‑oriented mentality and a willingness to take on tasks and responsibilities as needed.
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting and ERP platforms.
• CPA or similar highly preferred.
• Experience in a startup, VC‑backed, early‑stage or high‑growth company environment.
• Experience with various forms of equity‑based compensation.
