About the Role

We’re a growing consumer products company looking for a hands on, tech savvy, VP of Finance with a strong FP&A background. In this role, you'll embody the company’s bootstrapped roots to lead the finance function and personally work on FP&A. This role is for a senior operator who still loves doing the work.

Ideally this role would be based in Cleveland, OH however remote candidates will be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the full finance function as our most senior finance leader.


• Build our FP&A capability from the ground up: budgets, forecasts, and cash flow modeling.


• Use Claude and other AI tools to build faster, model smarter, and automate manual work.


• Work with our small finance team to institutionalize our accounting and month-end close.


• Manage cash, banking and lender relationships, and tax planning.


• Prepare to undergo an audit.

What We’re Looking For

• Senior finance leadership experience (roughly 10+ years), with the ability to own the full finance function.


• A strong FP&A background: you can build a budget, forecast, and cash flow model from scratch, on your own.


• Genuinely tech-forward: you already use AI tools like Claude in your work and see it as a core part of how finance should operate.


• A background in toys or licensed consumer products, with vast experience in royalty reporting, mass retail distribution, and overseas manufacturing


• A hands‑on operator's mindset. Comfortable with a small team and rolling up your sleeves.


• Enough startup hunger to build something, paired with the discipline to make it institutionally sound.


• CPA and/or MBA a plus, not a requirement.


• Someone with a track record of scaling the finance function from tribal knowledge to GAAP compliance

What Success Looks Like

• A real company budget in place, built department by department.


• Forecasting and cash flow processes running on a predictable cadence.


• Financials that are clean, documented, and audit ready.


• KPIs are alive and measurable within the organization

• Reports to: CEO.


• Location: Cleveland area, on‑site with our ops and finance teams.


• Team: Leads a small Finance department, partners cross functionally with Operations


• Compensation: Competitive base plus bonus (cash).
