Job Summary
The Vice President, ERP & Digital Manufacturing Solutions is a strategic technology executive responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing the company’s global ERP platforms, software engineering capabilities, and digital manufacturing ecosystem. The role drives enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives across ERP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Industrial Automation, Operational Technology (OT), Supply Chain Digitalization, Data Platforms, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Smart Manufacturing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global ERP and Digital Manufacturing strategy aligned with business priorities and transformation initiatives.
- Lead the global SAP/ERP organization, including process transformation, application delivery, support operations, governance, architecture, integrations, and continuous improvement.
- Own the strategy and roadmap for digital manufacturing platforms including MES, SCADA, historian systems, Industrial IoT, Automation Platforms, Advanced Analytics, and Smart Factory initiatives.
- Lead global software engineering teams responsible for enterprise applications, manufacturing solutions, integrations, APIs, cloud‑native platforms, and custom application development.
- Establish modern software engineering practices such as Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, platform engineering, test automation, release governance, and quality management.
- Drive enterprise application modernization using cloud technologies, microservices architecture, API‑first strategies, and scalable engineering frameworks.
- Build engineering excellence through standardized development methodologies, code quality practices, architecture reviews, technical mentoring, and performance metrics.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial leaders to optimize end‑to‑end processes and drive digital innovation.
- Lead enterprise‑wide ERP modernization initiatives including SAP S/4HANA transformation, global template deployment, process harmonization, and master data governance.
- Establish and govern enterprise architecture standards for ERP, manufacturing technologies, software platforms, and integrations ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and compliance.
- Drive adoption of Industry 4.0 capabilities such as predictive analytics, machine connectivity, AI/ML‑enabled insights, digital twins, intelligent automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Lead the adoption and operationalization of AI, Generative AI, ML, and advanced analytics across ERP, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations.
- Define and implement enterprise AI governance frameworks, including responsible AI usage, model lifecycle management, data governance, security, compliance, and ethical standards.
- Partner with leaders to identify and scale AI‑driven use cases in predictive maintenance, intelligent automation, digital copilots, supply chain optimization, manufacturing insights, quality analytics, and knowledge management.
- Oversee enterprise data engineering and integration capabilities supporting AI/ML platforms, advanced analytics, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Ensure stable and secure 24/7 operations of global ERP, manufacturing systems, software platforms, and business‑critical applications supporting manufacturing sites, distribution centers, laboratories, and global operations.
- Lead integration strategies between ERP, MES, PLM, Quality Systems, Supply Chain systems, enterprise data platforms, and cloud ecosystems.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to secure and comply with operational technology environments, enterprise applications, and manufacturing networks.
- Build and develop high‑performing global teams.
- Manage technology vendors, software providers, system integrators, cloud partners, and external consultants to optimize delivery and value realization.
- Communicate transformation progress, operational performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic roadmaps to executive leadership and business stakeholders.
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
- Preferred: Master’s/MBA, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Work Experience
- Required:
- Minimum 15+ years of leadership experience in ERP, Enterprise Applications, Software Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or Digital Transformation.
- Minimum 10+ years of leading large global technology organizations and enterprise transformation programs.
- Extensive experience with SAP ERP platforms including S/4HANA and enterprise integration ecosystems.
- Demonstrated success delivering large‑scale ERP modernization and digital transformation programs.
- Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, life sciences, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Preferred:
- Extensive experience with software engineering leadership, cloud platforms, and enterprise application delivery.
- Extensive experience with manufacturing operations, MES, OT/IT integration, and digital manufacturing platforms.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong expertise in SAP ERP platforms (S/4HANA, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Procurement, Warehouse Management, Master Data Management).
- Deep understanding of MES, SCADA, historian platforms, automation technologies, Industrial IoT, and Operational Technology environments.
- Strong leadership experience managing global software engineering organizations and enterprise application development teams.
- Deep understanding of the SDLC, Agile methodologies, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, cloud engineering practices, and release management.
- Experience with modern application architectures including microservices, APIs, event‑driven architectures, containerization, and cloud‑native development.
- Experience leading enterprise AI and Generative AI strategy, implementation, governance, and operationalization.
- Knowledge of AI/ML platforms, large language models (LLMs), intelligent automation, data science workflows, and enterprise AI integration patterns.
- Experience implementing AI‑enabled business solutions such as copilots, predictive analytics, intelligent document processing, manufacturing analytics, and conversational AI platforms.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies include IoT, AI/ML, advanced analytics, robotics, predictive maintenance, digital twins, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including AI and analytics services.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration technologies, middleware platforms, API management, and data engineering ecosystems.
- Experience with enterprise architecture governance, platform standardization, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, validation, and compliance requirements in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience operating within GxP, CSV, data integrity, and quality‑controlled environments.
- Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to align software engineering and AI innovation with business strategy and measurable outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change, manage complex priorities, and execute effectively within fast‑paced global environments.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, vendor management, and strategic partnership capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed global organization.
