What you will be doing

The Vice President, Enterprise Procurement is responsible for leading and executing a unified procurement strategy across all business units at Premier. This role ensures alignment of sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations with enterprise priorities, driving cost optimization, risk mitigation, and value creation. Operating as an enterprise integrator, partnering across all business segments to standardize procurement practices and maximize Premier’s scale and supplier relationships, the role will drive measurable value creation (cost savings, efficiency, risk mitigation) and reports directly to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Procurement Strategy & Alignment (30%)

  • Lead enterprise procurement strategy across all business units
  • Align sourcing priorities with business and financial goals
  • Drive enterprise spend visibility and optimization

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management (25%)

  • Lead enterprise sourcing and contracting processes
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance
  • Execute high-value negotiations

Governance, Risk & Compliance (20%)

  • Establish procurement policies and control
  • Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
  • Lead supplier risk management

Operations & Digital Enablement (15%)

  • Implement procurement tools and systems
  • Drive process standardization and efficiency
  • Develop analytics and reporting capabilities

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)

  • Partner with executive and business unit leaders
  • Lead procurement organization
  • Influence enterprise decision-making

Required Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of applicable experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (required)

  • Ability to build relationships to partner with the business and work with various levels of internal and external constituencies, such as top leaders and key external partners
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Superior communication skills, including verbal, oral and through presentations
  • Results and continuous improvement-oriented; ability to anticipate and plan, to drive policy and process initiatives and lead changes with a strategic global mindset
  • High quality threshold with ability to understand details and formalize executive-level summarization
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach to solutioning and collaborative resolution; strong follow-through
  • Adept at leveraging technology and analytics to improve internal audit effectiveness
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple, changing, and competing priorities
  • Strong team orientation, and ability to fit in with Premier’s culture
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in related function
  • Demonstrated vendor/partner negotiation experience and measurable cost savings
  • Proven experience in the execution of a centralized procurement transformation
  • Change management experience
  • Master’s degree in business or related field

Travel Requirements

Travel 1-20% within the United States.

Physical Demands

Compensation

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $205,000 – $380,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
