VP Controller - Remote

A growing food and beverage company in New York City is seeking a Vice President, Controller to lead its accounting function through its next stage of growth.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a hands-on accounting executive who understands the complexities of a product-based business and can build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued expansion.

VP, Controller Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly close, financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls.
• Oversee inventory accounting, COGS, standard costing, and gross margin reporting.
• Manage accounting related to third-party manufacturing, distribution, trade spend, and revenue recognition.
• Establish scalable accounting processes, policies, and reporting infrastructure.
• Lead external audits, technical accounting matters, and GAAP compliance.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership to improve financial visibility and operational decision-making.
• Drive ERP optimization, automation, and process improvements.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

VP, Controller Qualifications:

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior controllership leadership.
• Strong experience within food and beverage, CPG, or a related product-based business.
• Deep understanding of inventory accounting, COGS, manufacturing, and supply chain accounting.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience scaling accounting functions in high-growth or investor-backed environments.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and NetSuite experience.
• Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
