Our client is a premier independent investment banking advisory firm. They seek a VP Controller, Corporate Functions to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee finance and accounting activities for a large technology investment portfolio, ensuring effective cost governance
- Administer capitalization processes for employees, contingent workers, and technology-related investments
- Coordinate annual technology budgets, forecasts, and financial planning with business leadership
- Identify cost trends, accounting issues, and opportunities to improve financial performance and efficiency
- Consolidate global financial results and deliver executive reporting across business functions
- Enhance financial reporting processes, variance analyses, and management presentations to support strategic decision-making
- Partner with procurement, accounting, and finance teams to ensure accurate invoice processing, accruals, and month-end close activities
- Support regulatory reporting, accounting policy initiatives, and financial compliance requirements
- Manage project accounting, contract reviews, and capital asset recognition for technology initiatives
- Analyze financial data and perform ad hoc reporting to support executive leadership and cross-functional projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 8/9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related role within financial services
- Experience with technology investment accounting, capitalization, and cost governance
- Strong team-based attitude and work ethic
- Excellent leadership skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms
