VP / AVP Sales — Technology & AIWe are seeking a senior enterprise sales professional to join Damco's Sales function as VP or AVP of Sales — Technology & AI. This is a hunter-first role: the primary mandate is to originate, develop, and close new business across Damco's Technology and AI services portfolio, with a target of $5M in bookings in FY 2026–27.The role reports to Partner – Enterprise Growth & Strategic Sales. You are expected to run your own pipeline, engage directly with CTO, VP Engineering, CDO, and CISO-level buyers, and bring the kind of technical credibility that opens doors in a market flooded with AI consultancies making undifferentiated promises. The ability to have a genuinely informed conversation about AI implementation — what is real, what is ready, and what creates enterprise-grade business value — is what will set you apart.Key Responsibilities:Pipeline & Business DevelopmentAI-Led Solution SellingCollaborationMarket Intelligence & GTM ContributionCompensation & Structure:Compensation Overview: Base + OTE on 100% quota ($5M) achieved + Incentive on booked revenueReporting Line: Partner — Enterprise Growth & Strategic SalesLocation: US-based, remote; travel to client sites and Damco offices as requiredStart Date: Target: within 30 days of offer acceptanceIdeal Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate for this role is a senior enterprise technology services sales professional who is genuinely literate in AI — not someone who has added "AI" to a deck of legacy services, but someone who understands how production AI systems are actually built, what makes them succeed in enterprise environments, and where the real implementation complexity lies. They bring an established network of technology decision-makers — CTOs, VPs Engineering, CDOs, and Heads of Product — at mid-market and enterprise companies who are actively evaluating AI implementation partners.
These are not cold contacts. They are people who will take this candidate's call because they have earned the right to make it.They are a hunter by nature and a practitioner by credibility. They have sold complex, multi-phase technology services engagements — not SaaS licenses — and understand the difference between a product pitch and a genuine services relationship. They can hold a substantive conversation about LLM architecture, agentic systems, and MCP frameworks with an engineering leader, and then translate that into a business case that a CFO will sign.Non-Negotiable Requirements:8–15 years of enterprise technology services sales experience, with a consistent track record of closing $300K–$3M+ services engagementsDemonstrated ability to sell AI or data-led technology services: at minimum, experience positioning and closing engagements involving AI/ML development, GenAI application builds, data platform work, or cloud native application developmentActive network of technology decision-makers (CTO, VP Engineering, CDO, Head of AI/Data, Head of Product) at US mid-market and lower-enterprise companies who are active buyers of technology servicesGenuine familiarity with the AI implementation landscape: able to distinguish between LLM fine-tuning, RAG, agentic systems, and MCP-based architecture in a client conversation — without needing a technical pre-sales resource in the roomProven ability to run an independent enterprise sales cycle: own a pipeline, qualify rigorously, manage multi-stakeholder deal dynamics, and close without heavy marketing or BDR supportStrong understanding of the technology services competitive landscape: can credibly position Damco against offshore-heavy SIs, boutique pure-play AI consultancies, hyperscaler professional services arms, and Big 4 advisory practicesComfortable with complex commercial structures: T&M engagements, fixed-price milestones, retainer based AI advisory, and hybrid delivery modelsUS-based with unrestricted right to workHighly Desired Attributes:Hands-on experience selling GenAI application development or agentic AI systems to enterprise buyers — particularly engagements where the firm built and deployed LLM-based products, autonomous agents, or MCP server implementations in productionExperience selling into verticals where AI adoption is accelerating: Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare Technology, Logistics & Supply Chain, or Enterprise SaaSFamiliarity with the MCP (Model Context Protocol) ecosystem and the emerging market for enterprise AI infrastructure that connects LLMs to live business systems, APIs, and data sourcesPrior experience at a mid-size technology services firm (200–1,500 employees) where they drove significant new business independently — not just account management within a large SI's account teamNetwork that extends into AI-forward buyer communities: AI / ML engineering leaders, CDOs, Heads of Product at companies with active AI development programsExperience selling offshore-leveraged delivery models to US buyers — comfortable navigating pricing, timezone, and quality conversations from first-hand experienceExposure to or relationships within the UAE or broader Gulf technology market (an advantage given Damco's established regional footprint)Personality & Working Style:AI-Literate: Genuinely curious about AI and follows the space closely.
Can distinguish real enterprise use cases from hype, and holds that line with buyers.Hunter Mentality: Drives pipeline creation from their own network and outreach. Not dependent on inbound leads or marketing-qualified lists.Technical Credibility: Can go one level deeper than the average salesperson in a technical conversation. Earns respect from engineering-led buyers without pretending to be an engineer.Ownership Mindset: Treats the $5M target as a personal commitment, not a corporate KPI. Knows their pipeline, knows their gaps, and takes action.Executive Presence: Confident at C-suite.
Can hold a strategic AI transformation conversation, not just a vendor pitch. Comfortable presenting to boards.Collaborative: Works well within the broader Sales function. Shares market intelligence, supports peer salespeople on cross-sell, and contributes to joint pursuits. Why This Role:The enterprise AI market is generating genuine, accelerating demand in 2026 — buyers are moving from pilots to production, and skilled sellers in this space can build pipeline faster than at any prior moment in technology services history.Damco builds real AI solutions — GenAI applications, agentic systems, and MCP implementations already in production — giving you credible proof points in a market full of consultancies selling AI strategy without delivery capability. You will operate with significant autonomy, selling into accounts and verticals of your own identification, with direct access to Sr. Leadership and the CEO for strategic deal support. The MCP ecosystem is an emerging and largely untapped commercial opportunity; being among the first commercial voices in this space for a firm that can actually deliver is a genuine first-mover advantage.Compensation is competitive and structured to reward outperformance above the $5M base target.
