Role Summary / Purpose

This VP, American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) Analytics role is a hands‑on manager position responsible for leading end‑to‑end analytics delivery for the AEO Credit Card Program. The role involves designing strategic analytics initiatives, developing roadmaps, managing project execution, and driving profitable growth while integrating credit into AEO’s multi‑tender loyalty program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop decision‑optimization agenda and lead analytics delivery to support AEO’s Credit Card Program.
  • Partner with growth teams to establish learning agendas, develop omni‑channel marketing strategies, and design advanced analytics methods (including machine learning).
  • Build trust with client, establish strong relationships, and act as a consultant solving problems beyond the credit program.
  • Collaborate on partner data to develop acquisition and marketing strategies for integrating credit into the loyalty program.
  • Use proprietary, client, and third‑party data to recommend actions that improve customer experience and drive program economics.
  • Advocate data‑driven decision making that optimizes program profitability and client revenue growth.
  • Share Synchrony analytics capabilities and influence activation by collaborating with analytics CoEs.
  • Develop expertise on cross‑functional KPIs, conduct portfolio diagnostics, and establish performance review rhythms.
  • Establish effective project‑management rhythms with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
  • Coach junior analysts, prioritize workload of offshore analysts, and ensure high‑quality execution.
  • Drive productivity and actionability of foundational reporting & measurement analytics using structured datasets, on‑demand reporting portals, and scalable measurement tools.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing actionable recommendations based on data insights.
  • Deliver hands‑on analytics projects and perform special assignments as assigned.
  • Oversee the analytics leader for another client card program, providing thought leadership and guidance.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma with 8+ years of experience in marketing analytics within financial services, credit card, or payments industry.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience using statistical analysis tools and data‑warehouse tools (SAS, SQL, R, Python).
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, credit card payments, or retail/consumer packaged goods industry.
  • 3+ years of leading large‑scale analytics projects.
  • 3+ years of client‑facing experience.
  • Ability to travel for business as required.

Desired Characteristics

  • 2+ years of management experience, directly leading a team.
  • Strong delegation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to partner with senior leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders to set analytics goals and execution roadmaps.
  • Experience building strong client relationships and influencing decision makers.
  • Proficiency with SAS, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Background in KPI analysis and data storytelling.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning algorithms and mobile‑tender loyalty integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and creative problem‑solving ability.

Salary & Benefits

Grade/Level: 12. Salary range: $135,000.00 – $230,000.00 USD Annual. Eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Compensation may vary based on experience, skill level, and market adjustments in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle.
