A publicly traded commercial real estate company with a nationally recognized mixed-use portfolio spanning multiple major markets is seeking a Finance Transformation leader. This newly created role reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and is purpose-built to lead the modernization of accounting processes, systems, data, and reporting capabilities — without the burden of a traditional recurring "day job." This executive will assess current-state processes, build and execute a transformation roadmap, and drive change across systems, automation, AI, analytics, and governance. The mandate spans people, process, and systems — with broad enterprise exposure to the CFO, CEO, Internal Audit, IT, Legal, Construction, Development, and Property Management.
Experience Desired:
- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally combining a public accounting foundation with private-industry transformation work
- A demonstrated, hands-on track record of personally mapping a process end-to-end, identifying control gaps, selecting and implementing a solution, navigating resistance, and delivering measurable results
- Strong technical accounting acumen
- Experience operating within a well-run, sophisticated company with a clear point of view on what strong controls, systems, and processes look like
- Executive presence and the collaborative, persuasive style needed to bring a tenured team along
