The LoopRoots Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting justice-impacted families through transportation, therapy, and technology-driven programs. Our mission is to remove the physical, financial, and emotional barriers that prevent families from maintaining meaningful connections with incarcerated loved ones, accessing mental health care, or navigating reentry. Founded in 2025, the LoopRoots Foundation operates nationally, with an initial focus on underserved communities in Maryland, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, California, and Virginia.

Our key initiatives include

  • LoopConnect A ride credit sponsorship platform that provides free or subsidized rides to prison visitation facilities, allowing families to stay in contact during incarceration.
  • LoopTalk A HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy program offering trauma-informed mental health care to justice-impacted individuals and caregivers, including children.
  • LoopTroop Rideshare Partnership We collaborate with the LoopTroop Rideshare platform to ensure families have access to safe, reliable, and culturally competent transportation services.

Director of Resource Center Development (Volunteer)

Remote | Volunteer Leadership Position | 20–25 Hours Weekly

About LoopRoots Foundation

LoopRoots Foundation is a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting justice-impacted individuals and families through transportation assistance, housing stabilization, workforce development, food access, wellness support, reentry services, and community-based programs.

We are currently developing the Loopers Resource Center, a community-driven initiative designed to provide essential items, household goods, clothing, hygiene products, furniture, and other resources to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Position Overview

LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial Volunteer Director of Resource Center Development to help build and launch the Loopers Resource Center from the ground up.

This individual will work directly with executive leadership to develop operational plans, donation programs, community partnerships, volunteer engagement strategies, inventory processes, and future sustainability models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the overall Resource Center strategy
  • Create donation intake and distribution processes
  • Develop inventory management recommendations
  • Research best practices for nonprofit resource centers and social enterprises
  • Build relationships with community organizations, donors, and local businesses
  • Identify potential donation sources and community partners
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment and engagement strategies
  • Support future planning for furniture donation and pickup programs
  • Help develop long-term sustainability and revenue-generation opportunities
  • Collaborate with design, operations, and community outreach teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit management, community outreach, retail operations, social services, logistics, inventory management, volunteer management, fundraising, or related fields
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and build new programs
  • Passion for serving communities and creating impact

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 20–25 hours per week
  • Remote volunteer position
