VMware System Administrator

Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced VMware Systems Administrator to support a secure enterprise virtualization environment at NDU.
• The role involves administering vSphere/ESXi infrastructure, keeping systems patched and hardened to DISA STIG standards, and supporting backup and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments, including HA, DRS, vMotion, storage, and networking
• Perform ESXi and vCenter patching and upgrades using Lifecycle Manager
• Provision and manage virtual machines, templates, and capacity planning
• Implement and maintain DISA STIG hardening and compliance for ESXi, vCenter, and VMs
• Support backup, replication, and disaster recovery operations
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell/PowerCLI
• Troubleshoot and coordinate with Windows Server and application teams
• Maintain documentation and meet security and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Engineering, with hands-on VMware experience
• Strong knowledge of vSphere/ESXi/vCenter administration
• Experience with DISA STIGs and system hardening
• Experience with PowerShell/PowerCLI scripting
• Active Secret clearance
• CompTIA Security+ CE (IAT Level xzgxqkn II) and a Computing Environment certification, both current

Preferred Qualifications:

• VMware VCP-DCV or VCAP-DCV
• Experience with vSAN, NSX, or Veeam
• Windows Server and Active Directory experience
• Experience in a DoD or federal environment

Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Certification: CompTIA Security+ and Computing Certification
