Job Title: VMware to Hyper-V Migration Engineer Work Location: Remote Employment Type: Contract Project Duration: Short-term project through December 2026 We are looking for an experienced VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V Migration Engineer to support a large-scale virtual infrastructure migration project for a US-based client. The role involves migrating virtual machines from VMware vSphere to Microsoft Hyper-V, optimizing migration performance, and ensuring minimal downtime during production cutovers. Assess existing VMware vSphere and Veeam Backup & Replication configurations. Troubleshoot migration bottlenecks and improve VM migration performance. Migrate virtual machines from VMware ESXi/vSphere to Microsoft Hyper-V. Configure and validate VM settings, virtual networking, storage, and connectivity. Execute migration waves, including large and complex virtual machines. Perform post-migration validation and troubleshoot boot, driver, and network issues. Coordinate with infrastructure teams during scheduled maintenance windows. Document migration progress and provide knowledge transfer to the client's technical team. Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server Failover Clustering. Knowledge of virtual networking, storage, Fibre Channel, and SAN environments. Experience with Windows Admin Center VM Conversion, Pure Storage, and large-scale enterprise VM migrations. Fully remote engagement with a US-based client. Flexibility to support scheduled after-hours or weekend migration windows.
