Together, we'll strengthen continuity and drive the next generation of innovation.As a Virtualization Systems Administrator supporting Infrastructure Services, you will be responsible for the operation, sustainment, and security of enterprise virtual server environments across multiple networks and enclaves. You will ensure stability, compliance, and performance of hypervisors, virtual machines, and compute clusters. You will support technical troubleshooting, implement configuration baselines, apply security controls, monitor systems health, and assist in the design and deployment of new virtual infrastructures.Key responsibilities include:Administer, maintain, and optimize virtualized server environments including VMware, Hyper-V, and related hypervisor technologiesOperate and maintain vCenter systems, including certificate lifecycle management, password oversight, and baseline updatesBuild, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines (Windows and Linux) to support mission applications and infrastructure servicesMonitor compute resource health, availability, and utilization; identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvementsMaintain configuration baselines for virtual hosts, hypervisors, VM templates, firmware, and golden imagesMaintain ATO compliance by supporting documentation, control implementation, and updates to system security baselinePerform timely patching of hypervisors, virtual appliances, guest operating systems, and associated toolsBuild and maintain virtual machine templates, configuration profiles, and provisioning workflows to support consistent deploymentsWhat you'll need to succeed:Experience requirements: Virtualization Systems Administrator Senior - Requires a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or 8+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.

Virtualization Systems Administrator Principal - Requires a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or 10+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.Certification: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, etc.)Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraphHands on experience administering enterprise scale virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)Experience with Windows and Linux server administration in virtualized environmentsStrong background in patch management, vulnerability remediation, STIG compliance, and secure configurationsExperience supporting clustered environments, vCenter operations, and hypervisor lifecycle managementStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skillsUS citizenship requiredLocation: OnsiteGDIT is your place.
