Key responsibilities Perform validation of Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Groups (MS-DRG) reviews and maintain coding accuracy and productivity Review electronic and scanned medical records, ensuring proper documentation and coding alignment Interact with physicians and educators to obtain necessary medical input and communicate coding recommendations effectively Required qualifications Current unrestricted credentials as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 codes and the DRG classification system Proven experience in inpatient hospital coding and clinical documentation auditing Ability to apply relevant ICD-10 coding guidelines for appropriate MS-DRG assignment Strong written communication skills for summarizing medical facts and coding principles
