This position works closely with Village Clinic leadership and an experienced team of medical providers, including providers delivering care through telemedicine.The Village Clinic Operations Specialist provides hands-on clinical and operational support in village communities, helping ensure patients receive quality, patient-centered care while village clinics remain compliant, well-equipped, and ready to serve their communities.If you're a Certified Medical Assistant or qualified healthcare professional who enjoys community-based healthcare, variety, travel, and working closely with both patients and providers, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact across the region.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform initial patient interviews and intakeObtain and document vital signs and the patient's chief complaint or reason for visitProvide ancillary patient care within the appropriate scope of practiceSupport providers during patient care and clinical activitiesProvide team-based care focused on the patient, family, and communityMaintain professional, respectful relationships with patients, staff, providers, and visitorsCollect blood, urine, and other laboratory specimens using OSHA- and CLIA-approved methodsProcess specimens and complete required documentation and third-party billing information for transportationPerform laboratory testing after successfully completing required competency training and assessmentsComplete initial, six-month, and annual laboratory competency requirementsMonitor laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, in coordination with Bio-Med recommendationsPackage laboratory and biological specimens according to DOT and IATA requirementsTravel to KANA village clinics to provide provider ancillary supportAssist with village provider trainingConduct clinic surveillance and inspectionsHelp identify operational, clinical, supply, or compliance needsSupport consistent quality standards across village clinic locationsCollaborate with clinic leadership and providers to ensure effective clinic operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentTwo years of relevant experienceCurrent Certified Medical Assistant certification, orCurrent Phlebotomist certification with Certified Nursing Assistant certificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationParticipation in annual de-escalation trainingValid driver's license with three consecutive years of an acceptable driving recordReliable transportation or comfort driving a company-owned vehicleKANA's standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site per day).All KANA positions are based in Kodiak and are not eligible for remote work.
