Investment Accounting RoleThis person will support the firm's investment portfolio through accounting oversight, trade lifecycle governance, and cross-functional reporting coordination.This senior individual contributor role serves as a key control point across Treasury, Accounting, and Regulatory Reporting. The position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of investment accounting, derivative settlement, and portfolio data while supporting portfolio attribution and management reporting.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in investment accounting and reconciliation within a bank or institutional fixed income environment, along with strong process discipline and analytical capability.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Investment Accounting, Reconciliation & AttributionOversee daily and monthly validation of investment accounting data across the securities and derivatives portfolioManage trade and position reconciliation between Treasury systems, accounting records, and custodial dataPartner closely with Accounting during month-end and quarter-end close cyclesSupport portfolio return attribution analysis, including yield and spread-driven performance driversMonitor premium/discount amortization, book yields, and AOCI-related impactsEnsure data integrity within TPG and downstream reporting environmentsInvestigate and resolve breaks, discrepancies, and data anomaliesMiddle Office Trade & Derivative SettlementOversee middle office controls across the trade lifecycle for securities and derivativesManage confirmation and settlement processes for swaps, TBAs, and other Treasury derivativesCoordinate with counterparties, custodians, and internal operations teams to ensure timely settlementMonitor trade exceptions, fails, and aged breaks; escalate where appropriateSupport accounting coordination for derivative activity, including hedge-related workflowsIdentify opportunities to streamline and automate middle office processesPortfolio Reporting & Cross-Team CoordinationProduce and manage monthly and quarterly Treasury portfolio reporting packagesServe as a central liaison across Treasury, Accounting, and Regulatory Reporting teamsEnsure consistency of portfolio data used across internal management and regulatory reportsSupport ALCO and senior management reporting needs as requiredMaintain governance over key portfolio metrics (e.g., balances, yields, duration summary outputs)Drive improvements in reporting efficiency, controls, and data transparencyControls, Governance & Process ImprovementStrengthen end-to-end investment data controls and reconciliation frameworksSupport SOX and internal control requirements related to the investment portfolioDocument and enhance key Treasury middle office and accounting processesPartner with Technology and Accounting on system enhancements and data quality initiativesProactively identify control gaps and implement remediation plansThe information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Treasuries, Agency MBS/CMOs, and municipal securitiesWorking knowledge of derivatives, including interest rate swaps and TBAsDemonstrated experience supporting investment accounting close processesHands-on experience with trade reconciliation and break resolutionAdvanced Excel skills and strong data validation capabilitiesPreferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Direct experience with TPG investment accounting platformFamiliarity with hedge accounting workflows (ASC 815) from a settlement/accounting coordination perspectiveExperience supporting ALCO, liquidity, or regulatory reporting processesExposure to portfolio attribution methodologiesCPA, CFA, or similar professional designation preferred
