We are partnering with a leading global alternative investment firm that is seeking a Vice President of Technical Accounting / Fund Accounting Policy & Strategy to join their growing finance organization.

This is a highly visible role supporting the accounting strategy behind complex fund structures and investment products. The ideal candidate will bring a strong public accounting foundation, deep technical accounting expertise, and experience navigating complex transactions within the alternative investment industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with fund accounting, finance teams, third-party administrators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to analyze and structure complex transactions
• Research and document technical accounting positions related to fund operations and corporate structures
• Develop and enhance accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess impacts across the alternative investment platform
• Review financial statements and regulatory filings for compliance and accuracy
• Support SOX controls and strengthen the technical accounting control environment
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams on accounting strategy and process improvements

Ideal Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Active CPA license required
• 5–8 years of accounting experience with a strong public accounting foundation
• Experience with technical accounting within private equity, alternative investments, or investment management strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of ASC 946 (Investment Companies) and ASC 820 (Fair Value Measurement)
• Ability to navigate complex accounting issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across teams
