The Vice President, Procurement is responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive oversight of the organization's enterprise-wide procurement function. This role develops and executes procurement strategies that drive cost competitiveness, supplier innovation, operational resilience, and sustainable value creation across all manufacturing and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing procurement organization through effective leadership, coaching, succession planning, and talent development
- Establish clear organizational goals, performance expectations, and accountability across the procurement function
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Build organizational capability through the implementation of industry-leading procurement methodologies, systems, and best practices
- Champion employee engagement and leadership development initiatives within the procurement organization
- Provide executive oversight for all sourcing activities, including supplier selection, strategic negotiations, contract management, and supplier lifecycle management
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships that improve quality, innovation, cost competitiveness, and service performance
- Lead supplier performance management programs utilizing scorecards, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Diversify supplier networks while reducing supply chain risk and improving business continuity
- Oversee enterprise contract strategy to ensure favorable commercial terms and regulatory compliance
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Human Resources, Quality, Legal, and Executive Leadership to align procurement strategies with business priorities
- Influence enterprise decision-making by providing market intelligence, supplier insights, and strategic sourcing recommendations
- Collaborate with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and working capital initiatives
- Support new product development, capital investments, and operational initiatives through strategic supplier engagement
- Lead enterprise procurement transformation initiatives focused on process standardization, digital enablement, automation, and procurement technology optimization
- Establish governance frameworks that improve procurement efficiency, transparency, and compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce complexity, eliminate waste, and enhance procurement effectiveness
- Integrate sustainability, responsible sourcing, supplier diversity, and ESG principles into procurement strategies where applicable
- Position procurement as a strategic value-creating function that enables business growth and innovation
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and labor agreements
- Develop enterprise supplier risk management strategies that proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, geopolitical, and supply risks
- Oversee procurement governance processes, delegation of authority, and contract compliance
- Ensure ethical sourcing practices and compliance with all applicable procurement regulations and corporate standards
- Support business continuity planning through strategic supplier risk assessments and contingency planning
- Establish enterprise procurement KPIs and performance dashboards to measure cost savings, supplier performance, service levels, inventory optimization, and value creation
- Utilize data analytics and market intelligence to support executive decision-making
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership regarding procurement performance, supplier risks, financial impact, and strategic initiatives
- Benchmark procurement performance against industry standards and implement improvement opportunities

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field required
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership experience
- Minimum of 8 years leading multi-level procurement organizations in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise procurement strategies and leading organizational transformation
- Significant experience negotiating complex supplier agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships
- Proven experience managing large operating budgets, capital expenditures, and enterprise sourcing initiatives
- Expert knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, and procurement operations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, inventory management, and enterprise planning
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including cost modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and value creation analysis
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Ability to lead organizational change, build cross-functional partnerships, and execute enterprise-wide initiatives
- Experience implementing procurement technologies, ERP systems, eProcurement platforms, and analytics solutions
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities
- Travel: 20-30%
