Overview

Vice President – Carlyle Private Equity Partners (CPEP) – responsible for leading the growth and development of CPEP, an evergreen private equity vehicle for retail and high-net-worth investors, while driving the origination and execution of buyout transactions across sectors within Carlyle’s Global Private Equity (GPE) platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the origination and execution of buyout transactions across sectors.
  • Support the growth and development of CPEP, collaborating closely with the Head of CPEP and senior Private Equity professionals.
  • Provide strategic fund‑level oversight and participate actively in investment execution.
  • Manage portfolio construction and performance tracking for the evergreen vehicle.
  • Mentor and develop junior talent, fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Communicate investment theses and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or related field (required).
  • Advanced certifications such as MBA, CFA or CAIA strongly preferred.

Professional Experience

  • 6–10 years of experience in private equity, investment banking or related alternative investment fields.
  • Demonstrated experience executing complex private equity transactions and leading cross‑functional deal teams.
  • Familiarity with evergreen vehicles or long‑duration capital strategies is a strong plus.

Competencies & Attributes

  • Deep technical expertise in financial modeling, valuation analysis, capital structuring and performance tracking.
  • Strategic thinker with a sophisticated understanding of private equity fund mechanics and portfolio construction.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate investment theses to senior stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and financial platforms (Bloomberg, Preqin, Capital IQ, FactSet); experience with SQL, Python or VBA is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, self‑motivated and comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth‑oriented environment.
  • Proven team leader and mentor.

Benefits & Compensation

Base salary range: $250,000 (location specific).

Annual discretionary incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
